These findings are based on statistical factors, growth rates, and predictions. Many of these cities are expected to experience population growth because of the increase in economic opportunities. Here are the fastest growing metros in the United States for 2022:
Frisco, Texas
Frisco has experienced an increase in population by 71% in the last decade, to about 200,000. Frisco has a growth rate of 6.1%. Frisco’s racial makeup is 65.36% White and 7.9% Black.
Meridian, Idaho
In 2018, Meridian’s population grew by 6.1%, and an employment rate rose by 5.94%. Meridian experienced a 48.3% increase in population between 2010 and 2019. It has a current population of 137,252 and a racial makeup of 90.94% White, 3.21% Asian, and 1.03% Black.
New Braunfels, Texas
Between 2010 and 2019, New Braunfels experienced a population growth of 56.4%, bringing its population over a decade from 57,740 to 90,403. The racial makeup of New Braunfels is 60.4% non-Hispanic White, 34.4% Hispanic, 2% Black, and 1.5% Asian.
South Jordan, Utah
South Jordan experienced a population growth increase of 51.8% over a decade. In 2019, the city had a population of 71,198. Its current population is 84,881. The city’s racial makeup is 84.7% non-Hispanic White, 7.1% Hispanic, 3.8% Asian, and 1% Black.
Buckeye, Arizona
Buckeye City is currently the 14th largest city in Arizona. It has a population growth of 5%, with an employment rate expected to surpass 40% over the next decade. It experienced a 56.6% increase in population between 2010 and 2019. Buckeye has a racial makeup of 73.41% White, 10.88% other race, 8.2% Black.
Apex, North Carolina
Apex had an 8% population growth in 2018. It’s considered one of the fastest growing metros because it’s become a tech and financial hub, along with being home to 30 colleges and universities. The racial makeup of Apex is 79.57% White, 8.84% Asian, 6.53% Black.
McKinney, Texas
The population increased by 51.9% over a decade in McKinney. By 2019, the population was 199,177. The current population of McKinney is 221,464. The city has a racial makeup of 74.62% White, 11.87% Black, and 8.43% Asian.
Cedar Park, Texas
In 2019, Cedar Park had a population of 79,462. Its current population is 87,139. Between 2010 and 2019, the city’s population increased by 44.2%. The racial makeup of Cedar Park is 80.59% White, 4.2% two or more races, and 2.95% Black.
